If water is leaking, close the shut-off valve for that fixture or the main valve for the house. For a leaking water heater, close the cold water valve on top of the tank and turn off its gas or its breaker. For a sewer backup, stop running water and flushing toilets.

Yes. We repair and replace gas and electric tank water heaters. On a gas tank that means pilots, thermocouples, gas valves and burners. On an electric tank it means elements and thermostats.

A leak from the tank itself means replacement, because the tank can't be patched. A bad part on a tank that's still sound is usually worth fixing. We'll tell you which one you're looking at before any work starts.

One slow sink or tub is usually a clog in that fixture's drain. When several drains back up at once, or a toilet gurgles when the washer drains, the problem is usually in the main line or the sewer line.

Red clay swells when it's wet and shrinks when it dries, which stresses buried pipe. Tree roots also work into the joints of older sewer lines and catch everything that flows past.

It depends on what we find. A single broken section can be dug up and replaced. A line that's broken, sagging or full of roots in several places is better replaced from the house to the tap.
